How do I get Genie Perks?
It’s live — download it free from the App Store on any iPhone running iOS 15.1 or later. Android is in the works. ✨
What kind of brands are on Genie Perks?
Better-for-you brands, mostly small and independent — plant-based, keto, vegan, organic, low-sugar, high-protein, clean-ingredient. A few you’ll recognize; plenty you won’t yet. That’s the point. Some are a handful of stores in and about to go national; some just went national and need people to actually notice. We’d rather help you find those early than hand you another offer on paper towels.
Do I have to shop somewhere special?
Nope. Shop where you already shop — Target, Walmart, HEB, Central Market, Whole Foods, Sprouts, Trader Joe’s, your regular grocery store, or online. Snap the receipt and the cash back lands the same way. We may add local and independent-retailer offers down the road, but nothing about Genie Perks requires a special trip.
Is the survey money on top of the cash back, or instead of it?
On top. They’re separate. The cash back is the brand paying to get their product into your cart; the survey is the brand paying for your opinion about it — two different budgets, two different payments to you. And because we can verify you actually bought and tried the product, you qualify for research a random panel respondent never gets offered. Nothing is mandatory: skip the survey and you keep the cash back all the same.
Is this another scammy survey app?
Nope — and we get why you’d ask. Most rewards apps pocket 90% of what brands pay them and hand you a 50¢ “reward,” usually on a mass-market product you weren’t going to buy anyway. We split it 50/50, every time, on brands actually worth trying. We make money when you do, not the other way around.
What counts as a valid receipt?
Any email or photo that shows a completed purchase you made — retail, grocery, restaurants, rideshare, subscriptions, travel, services, and more. If you paid for it, it counts. We can’t credit shipping notifications, order confirmations without a total, marketing emails, refunds, or bank statements.
Why was my receipt rejected?
The most common reasons: the email was a shipping notification (not a purchase receipt), the total was $0.00 (e.g. a free trial or insurance-covered prescription), or the email body didn’t contain enough purchase data. Try forwarding the original receipt email — not a reply or screenshot.
How much can I actually make?
Honest answer: it varies. Early beta users typically see roughly $20–$60/month with casual use (a few surveys + receipts a week); more active users can earn more. Your actual earnings depend on how many surveys you qualify for (which is based on demographics and brand demand), how often you participate, how many receipts you upload, and how many in-app tasks you complete — so individual results vary and no income is guaranteed. Think of it as matcha money, supplement money, farmers-market money — not a salary. The real point is that it’s money you weren’t getting before.
When and how do I get paid?
You earn points as you shop, answer surveys, and complete tasks in the app (like referring a friend, keeping a daily streak, or filling out your profile) — 1,000 points = $1, no funny math. Once you hit 10,000 points ($10), grant your wish with a gift card (Target, Sephora, Ulta, Starbucks, DoorDash) or cash out via PayPal or a Visa prepaid card. Most rewards land in under 24 hours, and your points never expire.
What about my data — do you sell it?
Brands pay us for aggregated, anonymized insights — not your name, email, or contacts. You opt in to every survey and every receipt, and you can delete your account (and your data) anytime from inside the app.

Anyone in the US who’s 18 or older. We’re especially looking for people who care about wellness, sustainability, clean beauty, and better-for-you brands — but everyone is welcome. The app is free, with no subscription and no hidden fees — ever.
